Yellow fever vaccine for Nigeria
Heading to Nigeria? It’s one of the countries on the Australian Government’s yellow fever risk list, so most travellers should be vaccinated before they go. We can give you the vaccine and your International Certificate of Vaccination in one visit at our clinic on Bondi Road, Sydney.
What you need to know
- Timing: get vaccinated at least 10 days before you arrive. That’s when your certificate becomes valid.
- One dose, for life: a single dose protects most people for life, and the certificate never needs renewing.
- Coming home: if you’ve been in Nigeria in the 6 days before arriving in Australia, you’ll need to declare it and may be asked to show your certificate.
- Entry rules change: check Smartraveller for Nigeria’s current entry requirements, including any countries you transit through.
- Avoid bites: the mosquitoes that spread yellow fever mostly bite during the day, so use repellent and cover up.
